The AeroPress was invented by Aerobie engineer Alan Adler in 2005 and has spawned its own annual World AeroPress Championship. It brews in about a minute, is forgiving of grind size, and produces a cup that lands somewhere between drip and espresso in body. It is more common as a home brewer than a café offering, but Brooklyn shops occasionally feature it as a barista-choice method.
