A dirty chai is a masala chai latte (steamed milk and chai concentrate) with a shot of espresso pulled into it. The combination of cardamom-and-ginger chai with espresso is more balanced than it sounds: the spice softens the espresso and the espresso adds body to the chai. Most Brooklyn shops will make it on request even when it is not on the menu.
