309 Court St, Brooklyn, NY 11231
D'Amico Coffee Roasters has been a Carroll Gardens institution since 1948, when Emanuel D'Amico rented a brownstone storefront at 309 Court Street and began roasting coffee for the surrounding Italian-American neighborhood. More than 75 years later, the shop is still family-run, still roasting in-house, and still serving the same community — making it one of the longest-operating specialty coffee operations in Brooklyn. The coffee program leans Italian — proper espresso, full-bodied house blends, and a deep selection of single-origin beans available both for in-cup drinking and to take home. The cafe is intentionally unfussy: a small counter, a few seats, and a focus on the coffee rather than the room. For Carroll Gardens regulars, D'Amico is a daily ritual; for visitors, it's a piece of Brooklyn coffee history that has outlived most of its original peers.
